PATH entry at WTC will be moved again

Tuesday, March 25, 2008 JASON FINK
Jersey JournalThe entrance at the World Trade Center PATH station is moving once again, part of ongoing construction work for the permanent station set to open in 2011.

The new street entrance to the station will be at Vesey Street, off Greenwich Street, and the turnstiles will be moved, said Steve Coleman, a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, which runs the system. "In order to build the new station we have to relocate the entrance to the station again," said Coleman.

The current entrance, on Church Street, was moved about 50 feet south from the previous entrance over the summer. The bank of escalators that now bring commuters up to the third level of the station will also be moved north to where the new entrance will open, said Coleman. He said the move would be made in a matter of days, but could not give a precise date.
