The Tubes and Phoebe Snow

Phoebe Snow was an advertising character of the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western RR in the early part of the 20th Century who used rhyme to make her point:

Phoebe celebrated the opening of the Hudson Tubes with the connection to her Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken with:

Now Phoebe Snow
direct can go
from thirty-third to Buffalo.
From Broadway bright
the tubes run right
Into the Road of Anthracite"

...  and Phoebe's/Lackawanna's idealized rendering of the Tubes uptown and downtown lines to Hoboken [below] emphasized the role the Tubes played as a connecting railroad to the Class I railroads of the time:
