| Phoebe Snow was an advertising character of the Delaware,
Lackawanna and Western RR in the early part of the 20th Century who used rhyme
to make her point:
Phoebe celebrated the opening of the Hudson Tubes with the connection to her Lackawanna Terminal in Hoboken with: Now Phoebe Snow
... and Phoebe's/Lackawanna's idealized rendering of the Tubes uptown and downtown lines to Hoboken [below] emphasized the role the Tubes played as a connecting railroad to the Class I railroads of the time:
